20 Reasons Why My Stomach Hurts

We've made it through 5 years of fried food eating goodness at the fair. I'm pretty confident this year's trip has been the most epic to date - I don't remember any other years when we've sampled quite as many foods as we managed this year. We spent a good 6 hours at the fair just walking from stand to stand, looking for the most interesting things, and eating. Going with a group of at least 6 people works out well. We all contribute $20 to a group fund, and we use that money to buy food. The money goes farther that way, and we get just a couple of bites of many things, so we get to try a lot of stuff. I can't wait for next year!

Our list this year:
Chili - Had to coat my stomach early for all of the fried things to come
Waffle Fries - Seriously the best fries I've had. Fantastic if you're into crispy fries.
Deep Fried Quesadilla - The tortilla offered a very nice, delicate crunch. I was surprised that this was so good, although it was very greasy.
Beef Sundae (mashed potatoes with brisket and gravy, topped with a cherry tomato)
Texas Donut (maple donut with bacon)
Deep Fried Reeses (the rounder thing int he picture below)
Deep Fried Snickers (the 2 things towards the back in the picture below)
Deep Fried Cream Cheese - A treatfrom Hot Dog on a Stick that they don't sell at the mall. It was served with a sweet chili sauce, but I would have like it more if the sauce had more kick.
Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers - These are a group favorite that is always on the must have list.
Deep Fried Cookie Dough - New this year. The very best thing I ate all day.

Deep Fried Cinnamon Toast Crunch - I was most looking forward to this, and I might have been the most disappointed by it. I'd love to see a Cap'n Crunch version, but otherwise I probably wouldn't have it again.
Deep Fried Peanut Butter and Jelly
Deep Fried Italian Dough (kind of like the cinnamon dessert at Taco Bell) - Before we ordered, I was really hoping that this was a savory dough. I was hoping for something more akin to garlic knots.
Deep Fried Pineapple
Deep Fried Spam - They failed to cook the dough on this one, otherwise it might have been better.
Deep Fried Lobster - Easily the absolute worst thing we ate all day. The only thing worse I've had at the fair is deep fried watermelon.
